FYLD expands its Product Management Team to drive predictive work outcomes and AI advancements
FYLD continues to grow its product management team with the appointment of Joanna Crown as Lead Product Manager for its Work Outcomes Prediction Platform. Joanna is based in Oxford, UK. With a proven track record of advancing cutting edge technologies and a long-held passion for product development, Jo brings over a decade of industry expertise to her new role.
Armed with a double first-class degree in Maths from Oxford University, Jo began her career at computational technology behemoth, Wolfram Research – who sit behind products such as Mathematica and Wolfram Alpha. As Manager of Strategic Initiatives, she was charged with bridging the gap between building and commercialising software products. Her journey continued in the start-up space, next working as Product Director at Mind Foundry where she played a pivotal role in the company’s evolution from Series A to Series B funding, overseeing product management teams and spearheading major projects using machine-learning.
Looking ahead to her role at FYLD, Jo is diving into a product-centric organisation that aligns with her professional aspirations. “FYLD combines so many of my wish-list items,” she explains. “From its focus on machine learning and AI, to tackling real and significant challenges in industries critical to society, I’m looking forward to working with an enthusiastic and driven team on the biggest problems facing some of our most vital industries.”
Jo’s immediate focus will be on the ground-breaking Ofgem predictive work outcomes project, which aims to transform FYLD’s unique fieldwork execution platform to be even more proactive. She is particularly keen to unpack the dynamic tensions between sales-driven and product-centric approaches in environments prone to lengthy enterprise sales cycles.
“I know how difficult it is to bring innovative products to market, especially in tightly regulated industries. I’ve ridden the scale-up phase before, so I’m excited about bringing that experience to a new set of opportunities. It is well known that FYLD leads the charge in innovating field work practices within the infrastructure sector, driving significant change by seamlessly incorporating AI into their workflows. With a product strategy rooted in data-driven field work execution excellence, we enable our clients to anticipate risks, proactively averting potential disruptions to field operations. Predictive work outcomes are already elevating our platform’s intelligence and insights, providing remote managers with early indicators of specific jobs or operations at risk of non-delivery.”
FYLD’s CEO, Shelley Copsey added: “Jo brings enormous knowledge of product management to FYLD, particularly in AI and machine learning within tightly regulated sectors such as insurance and defence. Her experience in navigating the complexities of VC-backed technology companies at a variety of funding stages makes her an invaluable addition, and we’re thrilled to welcome her to the FYLD team.”
Away from work, Jo enjoys singing, running and spending time with her husband and three children.
